As the latest hire in the Ideal Academy, Ollie follows in the footsteps of Maisie, Mike and our other up-and-coming sales stars. We caught up with him to ask about his new job, what he likes and what he's looking forward to.
Welcome to Ideal! What's your new job title?
Thanks very much, my current job title is sales executive within the Ideal Academy.
What will you be doing day to day?
I will be helping account managers with things such as processing orders and generating quotes, whilst also trying to learn from them on sales processes and how to best prepare myself when talking to customers.
What attracted you to Ideal?
What attracted me to Ideal was its reputation as a growing company. I'd also heard some positive feedback from other staff here who I already know.
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m most looking forward to starting to broaden my contact base. I'm hoping to form relationships with customers by helping to find solutions to their business problems.
Tell us about your career in 100 words or less
I only finished university in May this year. After that I spent three months working for a business-development management company, cold-calling car dealerships to attempt to sell them an ‘Autotrader alternative' to advertise their cars.
What will be your biggest challenge(s)?
My biggest challenge will be applying the training I have completed in my first four weeks to real-life situations, and understanding which solutions will be best to offer with regard to specific customer pain points.
In five years, what do you hope to have achieved?
In five years I hope to have hit all of my sales targets, and to have an impressive portfolio of customers with whom I have a strong working relationship.
What do you do outside work?
I like playing football and cricket, and socialising with friends. I've also got an interest in gaming.
Recommend a film, TV show, game or book
My recommendation is from outside of the mainstream TV shows: Tom Hardy’s Taboo is brilliant!
