Ideal first in UK to achieve Palo Alto Networks' Traps Specialization

19 October 2016

Following on from our recent achievement in attaining Platinum Partner status in the Palo Alto Networks NextWave Channel Partner Programme, we are delighted to announce that we have now earned NextWave Traps Specialization. This specialisation recognises that we at Ideal have developed the skills required to successfully design, sell, implement and support the Traps endpoint protection solution.

AV is broken

Traditional anti-virus (AV) is not the solution to endpoint security - it’s the problem. Slow to update, slow to react and a drain on your resources and budgets, AV can no longer stop today’s threats. Traps advanced endpoint protection replaces AV with a highly scalable, lightweight security agent employing 'multi-method prevention': a proprietary combination of malware and exploit prevention methods that pre-emptively blocks both known and unknown threats - wherever they originate.

Traps-subscribed devices and endpoints share and receive threat intelligence with Palo Alto Networks' WildFire cloud-based malware analysis environment. Threats are identified, and new protections are automatically created and distributed to subscribers. By defeating attacks proactively, without requiring any prior knowledge of the threat itself, Traps provides organisations with a powerful tool for protecting endpoints from virtually every targeted attack and exploit.

Claire Hopkins, Ideal’s MD, comments:

"I am delighted to achieve this specialisation - it is further evidence of how we are helping our customers navigate the new era of increasingly innovative and pervasive cyber security threats. It's great to be the first partner to have achieved this specialisation - recognition of our continuing investment in technical and commercial knowledge at Ideal."

Discover first-hand how anti-virus isn't fit to face the current threat landscape. Ideal, with the support of Palo Alto Networks, is hosting an event on 9th November where experts from both companies will discuss the latest threats and show how Traps endpoint protection offers a best-fit solution to preventing ransomware.
