The Internal Account Manager provides support to the Business Support Team Leader with focus upon providing sales opportunity support and administrative function to delegated Account Managers, and the wider sales team where required.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing administrative support to Account Managers and Directors, which includes, but not limited to: preparing, and issuing quotes, processing customer orders, raising deal registrations with appropriate vendors.
  • Ensuring that closed opportunities for assigned Account Managers and Directors comply with Business Support standards and requirements
  • Providing administrative support to the Business Support Team Leader.
  • Working with distribution to achieve the very best pricing for our deals.
  • Managing and liaising with the Sales Order Processor, making sure purchase orders are processed, delivery dates are updated, and contract data gathering is entered correctly.
  • Responsible for your Account Managers maintenance renewals, raising quotes and chasing orders with customers, making sure their renewals forecast is up to date and reliable, reporting all updates to the Business Support Team Leader.
  • To attend and take notes at all presales sessions with your Account Managers
  • To attend appropriate customer meetings and responsible for building your own relationships with customers.
  • Passing all relevant information about orders to the Finance team and effectively communicating with other teams within the business in a timely manner
  • Providing support to the Sales Order Processor in times of absence
  • Participating in training and development opportunities, ensuring sufficient technical knowledge to perform role
  • Operating in compliance with legal requirements and other regulations including health and safety
  • Assisting with continuous improvement of systems, controls and working practises
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned


A good fit for this role will

  • Ensuring all quotes are sent to customers on the same day
  • Ensuring all purchase orders are placed before 5pm to ensure next day delivery to customer, unless advised otherwise
  • Ensuring quality control for closed won opportunities
  • Working to help achieve the target that your delegated Accounts Managers have been set.
  • Responsible for training in and achieving vendor accreditations.
  • Making sure data on the internal CRM system is complete, correct, accurate and relevant
  • Product knowledge is developed and applied to calls and all other means of communication with customers and suppliers

  • A determined, outgoing & competitive attitude, with commercial acumen
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work under own initiative and with colleagues to achieve goals to deadline
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience of Salesforce desirable but not essential
