We wanted to get an understanding of how professionals really felt about their organisations' paths to Cloud Native, so we asked 220 IT professionals across the UK. The results make for interesting and sometimes surprising reading.
Organisations are increasingly turning to technology to deliver innovation and streamlined operations for their digital business. It comes as no surprise that the platforms hosting our apps must drive the most from them by being flexible, infinitely scalable and most importantly simple and secure. These platforms unlock modern ways of working giving companies a competitive edge and reducing time to market.
At Ideal we help you transform your infrastructure to embrace your application and data driven business whilst minimising complexity.
Building a highly resilient data centre, fundamental to a major infrastructure project.
Our team of experts can help transform your business through:
One of our long-term customers was challenged with hosting an application to solve a key business challenge. However their existing IT systems would struggle to deliver the application requirements. Hosting on-premise would be resource-intensive and expensive, and dramatically push storage beyond its current capacity. Application performance would be affected and ultimately the IT team couldn’t deliver the optimal user experience to the business.
To deliver the scale, flexibility and security which the client required, Ideal proposed a cloud-based solution and incorporated new ways of working. This however introduced several challenges including skill gaps and the operational leap from a more traditional infrastructure.
To address these challenges, Ideal cloud experts ran several workshops and bespoke training sessions with the IT team to help them prepare for the shift to the cloud, preparing them to manage and optimise the environment. The consultancy assessed the knowledge, skills and process gaps and how to manage these, as well as establishing the fundamentals and best practice for a cloud model.
Ideal also proposed a cloud framework which involved building a project team to break down the management of the task and ensure there were clear roles and responsibilities during implementation and management.
This helped the teams move from a traditional to an agile way of working. Ideal also provided a single bill each month along with frequent reviews, ensuring cost optimisation and complete transparency.
Not only did Ideal help the customer overcome their initial challenges, but the new cloud environment is delivering significant results. The business is able to realise the benefits of the application with a secure and robust cloud platform, and the IT team can easily manage the flexible environment.
